For Melissa, design always comes back to people: listening closely, uncovering what matters most, and gently guiding ideas toward something meaningful. A lifelong Alaskan and artist at heart, she pairs empathy with a deeply creative spirit, drawing inspiration from people, place, and the wonderfully messy process of making something meaningful together.
Raised in a military family, Casey learned early how to find her footing in new places, a perspective that shaped how she sees people and her appreciation for a little order in the chaos. Now the youngest Principal at Explore Design, she brings a sharp mix of research, process, and intuition to her work, asking the questions that turn good ideas into something purposeful, and beautifully resolved.
Cara feels design deeply, and she isn’t afraid to bring that passion into the room. Raised in a carpenter’s workshop, she’s driven by the understanding of how our environments shape the way we feel and connect, championing design that brings more joy and wellbeing, between people and the world around them.
Jennifer Pfaff Smith is the homes editor of Luxe Interiors + Design magazine’s South Florida and Naples + Sarasota editions. She is a seasoned magazine journalist in South Florida, with 15 years of expertise in covering the local luxury lifestyle, and joined the Luxe team in 2016. Always on the pursuit to unearth the next best talent, she reports on the inspiring work of leading interior designers, architects, builders and landscape designers between Vero Beach and the Keys and from Sarasota to Marco Island. Jenn lives in Jupiter with her husband, John; daughters, Audrey and Grace; and golden retriever, Roman.
