In the premiere episode of the LUXE Connect Podcast by LUXE Interiors + Design, Homes Editor Mary Jo Bowling speaks with architect Clare Walton about designing a modern Lake Tahoe home that blends her client’s love of outer space and concrete with a strong connection to nature. When the owner envisioned the home as a series of futuristic pods, Walton used that concept to organize the structure, linking the volumes with glass passageways. Concrete is used to balanced retractable walls of glass, features helping Walton come ever closer to her long quest to build the “ultimate glass box” in the woods. The result is a home that she explains is “grounding” and provides a “connection to something larger than ourselves.”
